21 Jul Summer Life Devotions | week2
Over the course of the summer, we are doing summer devotionals together as one church! Every week, we will post seven scriptures, each with a thought and a prayer you can pray. Easy to add to your current devotional life and something we can share over the summer.
Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
Luke 17:20,21 NIV
Thought : The Kingdom of God is within you as a Christian and in the midst of the coming together of Christians. Therefore, we can be confident to share what He has placed inside of us.
Pray : That God uses you and your family today to spread His kingdom at work, on holiday, in your neighbourhood. Pray for hope on every street of your community.
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you LIVING water.”
John 4:10 NIV
Thought : The Holy Spirit is an eternal fountain on the inside of you. You need never be thirsty for that which satisfies if you nurture a relationship with Him and drink from Him rather than other things.
Pray : Repent from things you have sought satisfaction from that get in the way of your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to fill you today.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the LIFE. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11: 25-26 NIV
Thought : Jesus physically rose from the dead. His life has power over even death. There is nothing His life cannot overcome in your world today.
Pray : For areas in your life, or in your workplace or family that you think need the life of Christ to come and resurrect dead things.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Thought: We are privileged to know God and His word. But at the same time we have the responsibility to bring the good news to those who don’t yet know Him.
Pray: Ask God for opportunities in our relationships, so that his word is spread in our midst.
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good
Thought: God has given authority to our pastors so that they can guide our church according to His plans and purpose on Earth.
Pray: For our Senior Pastors today, Steve & Lizby Warren. Pray for your Group leader.
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal LIFE.”
Thought: We all have inside of us a fountain of living water in abundance, He is the fountain that will never go dry. We will be blessed if we drink from this fountain.
Pray: That we may seek in the Lord, directly in the FOUNTAIN, all of our answers and fulfilment of our needs.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17
Thought : To live and walk in the presence of the Spirit is where we will be most free, most ourselves. Need liberty today? Draw closer to the presence of the Holy Spirit. Church is the greatest place to experience this.
Pray : For our worship department, that they would ever be fresh as they lead us into the presence of God and freedom. Pray for salvation in Church today.
